A Mindful, Playful, Maker

Artist Statement
Working with clay makes me present, mindful, and focused: simultaneously in the moment, but mindful of the cultures and traditions of the past which inspire my work.
I use lines, patterns, carving, and symbols to create texture and rhythm on my forms, and reference the pots that inspire me.
The pots I create are a modern take on historical techniques decorated by my mind's eye, and the result of indulging my desire to create unique and useful objects as well as to doodle, carve and play.
